A warm welcome to the Chinese in Britain Forum’s website. The Forum works with and for the Chinese community to promote the community’s interests, active citizenship and social cohesion.
The Chinese in Britain Forum was established in 1996 as a response to the Home Office Sellect Affairs Committee Report, “The Chinese in Britain” published in 1985. It is significant that even in the face of a compelling government report, it took eleven years for a national body to be established. The Forum was registered a s charity in 1997.
The Forum’s work is strategic rather than operational. Its focus is on identifying and responding to needs within the community, promoting the interestes of the Chinese community to government and encouraging the active civic participation of the Chinese in British society.
The Forum is a registered charity (1096542 ) and a company limited by guarantee (03298764).
